Nambo Paradise Photos Part 2

The Butterfly

Contemplating Another Swim

The boys got to walk a goat. Ray held the leash, but Ryo preferred to hold the poop collector. Such sweet boys.

Photos from Nambo Paradise Part 1

Ray: We went to Nambo Paradise with the kids and we saw many beautiful tropical birds.

Sam: It was a great day for shooting with the 55-200mm zoom. Recently I’ve been using my 35mm prime, but this day it was all about the zoom lens.

Ray: Ryo-kun is very brave.

Sam: All was going well with Ryo and the birds until…

Ray: A bird landed on his shoulder.

Sam: It was too much for him

Ray: He was sooooo afraid.

Ray: A bird landed on my head, it was fun.

Ray: I got to hold the biggest tropical bird on my arm. It was heavy, but it was fun.

Sam: Apparently it weighed 1kg. Here’s one more shot I got of the big bird.

Like Glass

Yuki, Yasu and I met to have a business meeting in Roppongi after doing some work in Tokyo. Here’s a shot I took from the base of Izumi Garden Tower a few steps away from the sidewalk cafe we were meeting at. Now just imagine if the sky was painted with the firey colors of a sunset. Maybe next time :)

Taiki’s New Groove

So about a week ago while Leika was cleaning the room I took a buzzer to Taiki’s beautifully shaped head and he is looking like a new man. The short hair goes well with his muscular build and active nature. And he has finally switched over to walking… actually it’s more like dashing.

He was so fast when crawling that he was too lazy to walk, and now that he can walk he often tries to break out in a dash. He’s learning though that he can’t move as fast just yet on his feet, as he could while in his usual low-to-the-ground, air-slicing crawling position.

We also just got back from a bit of work in Tokyo and Yokohama, which we were able to combine with a visit to Gabe and Windy’s, which is looking better all the time. We also visited Ken and Natacha’s new Home which is just perfect for their family. Thanks for having us over, it was great seeing you.

A few photos

And we had a great time up in Nasu. I didn’t take many photos as I was busy building the foundation of a new room. To see photos from that trip click  here.

And before summer leaves us completely, here are a few more beach photos of my boys.

Notice Ryou’s hands. He has a cork he found on the beach, and he is almost never without a “Thomas train” of some sort. If he ever gets lost, there will probably be an announcement that goes something like: ” a 3 year old boy that is very emotional and crying buckets of tears, and clutching tightly to a Thomas the Tank Engine toy is looking for his parents.” We’ll immediately know that it’s Ryou. :)

And here’s Ray being a 5 year old, and not a 10 year old, though half the time he acts/thinks that he is a 10 year old.

Stay tuned for TAIKI’S NEW GROOVE.

Summer Festival>Yokosuka>River

Here are some photos from our latest adventures.

August 21st, Summer Festival

This is the 3rd year my friend and president of Nippon Beer donated Coronas for the Summer Festival. This year we went for the “island bar” look. Marie made the beautiful Corona banner at the top, and we added some Corona decor which was sent along with the beer. For any of you looking for a great tasting 0% alcohol beer, loo for the 龍馬 1865 beer which Nippon Beer recently released. It has no preservatives, artificial coloring and tastes great for a non alcoholic beer.

Corona, Coronita, and Negra Modelo

August 22nd, Trip to Yokosuka

The next morning we packed in a hurry to meet Bruce in Yokosuka for a beer brew-fest. I learned how to make beer and will be inheriting a beer making kit down the line. We took the ferry across Tokyo bay and the whole family loved it.

After the brew-fest, Bruce treated us out to a great meal at a classy restaurant on base. Check out the size of that pizza. It was large enough to feed 4 adults and 3 little boys.

After the dinner we drove up to Oume to camp by a river with friends. The first night we slept in the Serena, which became a cozy camper for the night. After that we spent 2 nights and 3 days a great little nook by a river, camping, BBQing, swimming, and just kicking it.

August 23rd – 25th, The RIVER
